Wellness and Mindful Leadership

Our Wellness and Mindful Leadership Department is dedicated to nurturing the health and vitality of individuals and families through a holistic approach.

We offer workplace wellness initiatives that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being in professional settings, empowering employees to thrive.

Our youth leadership programs equip young people with tools to build confidence, resilience, and purpose. We also provide mindfulness practices designed for the entire family, encouraging connection, stress management, and lifelong wellness habits.

Power of Retreat

What is TRAUMA?

“Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape, or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock, and denial are typical. Longer-term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea.” - Trauma - American Psychological Association.

CWUW has developed a program for women and their families to have space to address trauma, learn coping tools, and build social networks for support and understanding.

Power of Retreat has multiple components:

  • Sounding and Grounding sessions: Sound therapy teaches people how to relax, focus, and meditate using sound. Grounding teaches people to keep focus through techniques such as breathing and may include a connection with the outdoors.

  • Day Wellness Seminars - The Retreat: These are full-day retreats so that the participant will learn about trauma, how it impacts their lives, and learn tools to apply daily. Yoga, meditation, sound therapy, journaling, and more!

  • Psychological First Aid Training: Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed approach built on human resilience. PFA aims to reduce stress symptoms and assist in a healthy recovery following a traumatic event, natural disaster, public health emergency, or even a personal crisis

Coloring and Conversations

Adult coloring is a powerful tool that can help a person to quiet down, focus, and improve motor skills. We offer monthly adult coloring events free of charge. We provide coloring pages and materials so you can take this time to be creative, focused, and calm. Coloring and Conversations also offer an opportunity to chat with other women. Sometimes, we just need a low-stress activity and be with others.

Yoga and Meditation

Stress comes in many forms, and yoga and meditation are perfect ways to reduce stress. We partner with local yoga instructors so that you can learn more about starting yoga practice.

Meditation is a skill that something is challenging to master, but it just takes some practice. We provide workshops on meditation and give you some tools to meditate at home and with your family.
